At The Big Biscuit™ we pride ourselves on having the friendliest service in town. Our large, great-tasting portions are served in a neighborly atmosphere where we consider you part of our family. The menu includes everything from our signature Big Biscuits and Gravy to waffles, pancakes, omelets and scrambles; to Angus burgers, giant tenderloins, tasty sandwiches and outstanding salads.

How It All Started...

The very first Big Biscuit began serving breakfast and lunch in May of 2000, in Independence, Missouri.  Founder, Dan Gerson's goal was, and continues to be: "for every guest to have a good experience." With the success of the Independence restaurant, in 2005, Dan opened the second Big Biscuit in Blue Springs, Missouri. By 2009, The Big Biscuit™ had caught the eye of three restaurateurs...

Our Future...

In 2009, David Offerdahl, Jay Carpenter and his father, Keith, purchased The Big Biscuit™ concept from Dan, and in early 2011, opened the third Big Biscuit location in Shawnee, Kansas. The three partners have over 85 years of combined restaurant experience and believe that service, quality of food and cleanliness, are the keys to a successful restaurant business.

As we grow The Big Biscuit™, we are committed to continuing the great traditions that made The Big Biscuit™ what it is today. Our purpose is to create an experience so positive and enjoyable that you will recommend The Big Biscuit™ to your friends and family. If, for some reason, we ever fall short of that, please let us know. We encourage your comments and welcome any suggestions you might have. We want The Big Biscuit™ to be just as much "your place", as it is ours.
